Wash and condition in one creamy step! The perfect balance of cleansing and hydrating ingredients leaves hair weightlessly moisturized without stripping away natural oils. Fresh avocados and a nourishing mix of cupuaçu butter, cocoa butter and extra virgin olive oil define curls, tame frizz and leave locks gleaming. Plus, its fruity tropical scent will keep your mood sunny, too! Made in Canada.

Melt Warning: This product was made to melt on contact with skin which means it also melts easily in warmer weather. We recommend picking it up in-store rather than having it delivered.

Not just for brunching! Oil-rich, creamy avocados bring a whole heap of nutrients to the party. They moisturise the skin and hair magnificently.

The avocado (Persea gratissima, syn. Persea americana) is the fruit of a subtropical tree native to Mexico and South America. The tree is a member of the laurel family (Lauraceae) and there are approximately 500 varieties, which produce fruits ranging from small and egg-like to heavy, pear-shaped fruits.

They’re full of soothing and antioxidant vitamins.

They're packed with oils that give moisturise, condition and lustre.

They contain proteins that help strengthen the hair.

They also contain lecithin, a substance that acts as an emollient.

Much like sesame oil, avocado oil is said to protect the skin from UV rays. It isn’t strong enough to be used as a sunscreen, but it’s recommended to help protect the skin from the signs of premature ageing that can be caused by exposure to sunlight. It is also thought to reduce age spots and the appearance of scars, thanks to a substance called sterolin.

At Lush, we use fresh avocados in some of our products, but also oil and butter made from the fruit. To find out more about each of them and their supplier, browse your Lush product’s list of ingredients and click on the ones you are interested in. This should take you to a page full of details!

Citrusy sweetness that uplifts the mind, balances skin and brings inner balance? Sign us up!

The Litsea cubeba, or May Chang tree, is a small evergreen tree native to China. Its berry-like fruits are full of sweet and lemony essential oils.

The sweet, lemon-like and refreshing aroma of the litsea cubeba oil uplifts the mind and promotes relaxation and inner balance.

The oil is often used in skincare for its antiseptic, toning, and astringent properties that help balance the skin’s sebum production.

Citral makes up approximately 80% of the oil, it is a fragrant compound with a fresh lemon peel scent, close to lemongrass.

Lush purchases litsea cubeba oil from a producer in China.

A cleansing and invigorating herb for happy skin and scalp.

Native to the Mediterranean, rosemary is an evergreen shrub that can grow to six feet tall. A relative of basil and oregano, it belongs to the Labiatae family and has been cultivated since ancient times for use in medicine.

Rosemary’s aroma complements perfumes well with a very herbaceous yet floral scent, reminiscent of lavender to some.

It is believed to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss when applied to the scalp. It also makes the hair shine!

The plant's antibacterial and antifungal properties combat dandruff, cleanse the skin and help create effective deodorants.

The oil improves focus when inhaled, relaxes sore muscles in baths, and calms inflammation.

Fresh, dried, powdered, distilled, extracted… we use a lot of different versions of rosemary at Lush, and for each of them we’ll have a different source supplying us. Plant butters? A strange title, but what else could it be? It’s not plant-based butter, no, not the same thing. Let’s make up our own term for these solid blocks of fat, extracted from plant seeds, that moisturise the skin and hair.

Plant seeds are full of fats (and starches and nutrients) so that they can produce a shoot that will have enough energy to rise out of the soil and proceed with photosynthesis. It is these fats that have been consumed for millennia, pressed from the seeds by humankind to become well-known vegetable oils such as sunflower, rapeseed, coconut or palm oil. For plant butters it is the same thing! Except that, in their case, the fat is solid at room temperature, creating a 'butter'. The most famous example is cocoa butter in chocolate.

Shea, illipe, murumuru, cupuaçu, kokum - these are a few of the many plant butters we purchase from around the world, trying to find the most regenerative sources. Having multiple butters at hand helps in times of shortage, but more importantly, it allows for a wide choice of aroma, texture, melting point, and effects on skin and hair. At Lush, we love diversity… in all aspects of the business!

At Lush, we have a team of creative product inventors who love to try new ingredients, and a team of hard-working buyers who relentlessly try to fulfil their wishes. The tricky part is finding a supplier that meets our high standards and strict non-animal testing policy. Each of our seven manufacturing sites worldwide has its own team of buyers and therefore, its own unique sources for plant butters.
